Hi! My name is Fina and I've always loved VW Beetles. Growing up in southern California in the 90s, VW Beetles were very popular, I always dreamed of getting one. Many years later, I was able to buy a smurf blue '68. I named her Smurfette, it was love at first sight. Right away, I found my mechanic, Don Rafa, who helped me fix up my dream car and has worked on old VWs practically his whole life. He's also helped me learn a lot along the way, which I'm forever thankful for.
I created Slug Bug because I realized that there was a whole community of VW Beetle lovers like me out there (a lot of women too) and there was a lack of representation for us aficionados. I wanted the brand to give off a vintage feeling, but I wanted to infuse that "kawaii" style too, which you'll see through some of the products. I'm also really excited about incorporating several more artists to the future designs and promoting new art/artists. Our first designs were created by elJNGL. You can check out his shop here.
