Hi! My name is Fina. Since I could remember, I've always loved VW Beetles. Growing up in southern California in the 90s, bugs were super common. Eventually, I was able to buy a smurf blue '68. I named her Smurfette. It was love at first sight. I found an amazing mechanic, Don Rafa, who helped me fix up my dream car. He had been working on old VWs practically his whole life. He's also helped me learn a lot along the way - which I'm forever thankful for. He still works on my bug 12 years later.
I created Slug Bug because I realized that there was a whole community of VW Beetle lovers like me out there (a lot of women too) and there was a lack of representation for us aficionados. I wanted the brand to give off a vintage feeling, but I wanted to infuse that "kawaii" style too, which you'll see through some of the products. I'm also really excited about incorporating several more artists to the future designs and promoting new art/artists. Our first designs were created by elJNGL. You can check out his shop here.
